Before the End of Summer

I bought this dress a little while back from Asos Curve when it first came out but I didn't have the perfect event and/or weather to wear it. Everyday I would walk past my closet and look at this dress and wonder when would I ever get the perfect time to wear it but you know...this morning I looked at the dress and thought..that day may never come so lets make today that perfect day! I figured with the summer coming to a close that now is the time to do all the things I put off before it gets so cold outside and I turn into a hermit. So here it is...

 Dress: Asos
Shoes: Cato
Bangles: Avenue
Belt: Target

What are you guys putting off wearing or heck even doing before the end of the summer??

Hey yall

I finally got a chance to see the movie Sparkle! I have been excited about seeing this movie when I first saw the preview at the movie theater. Several people I talk to said they did not like the movie and after seeing it for myself I am actually kind of shocked! I enjoyed the movie and for some reason I could relate to it. I thought everyone did a great job especially Satin and Sister. Of course I have always had a BIG crush on Derek Luke! He is so handsome to me! I just love movies that are staged back in the Motown days. They bring so much nostalgia like I was actually there!! I loved how people dressed back then it seems so formal, prim and proper. Check out below what I wore to see the movie Sparkle with a special guest appearance with one of my faves Diana Ross!!

These are my favorite earrings! I will probably get married in these earrings. I usually only where them for special occasions but I thought what the hell life is short!

I told you Diana Ross made an appareance! lol

Whats Cookin Good Lookin: Salmon and Shrimp

Hey yall,

I am a seafood fanatic! It may not be the best thing for me but every once in a while you gotta "treat yo self!" LOL. If you don't know what I am talking about watch this funny as hell clip from Parks and Rec...
Anyways check out the dishes I have made featuring Salmon and Shrimp!

First up...Shrimp enchiladas...usually I do them with chicken but this time around I wanted to do something different...
I know this doesn't look like much but this mixture includes sauteed shrimp in spices, about 1/4 of enchilada sauce, cilantro, onion,Worcestershire sauce, bell pepper, corn and cheese.
This is the mixture rolled in enchiladas, topped with cheese and more enchilada sauce.
I promise you this dish is delicious!

The next dish is a Salmon Greek Salad containing romaine lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, feta, beets, cucumbers with greek dressing.

The third dish on the menu using Salmon Sandwich in pita pockets with hummus, salsa and lettuce.

Next up is a Shrimp Salad made with avocado, tomatoes, bell peppers and spices. You can even add mango for a little sweetness if you like.

I hope you enjoyed the seafood feast! Whats your favorite meal to make with shrimp or salmon?

P.S. If you want any details on the recipes feel free to hit me up via, email, twitter or in the comments!

All Black Everythang

What up!

Last weekend I went out with some people to MGM Casino. We met up with some others at the bar lounge called U, Me Drink. It was a pretty cool, chill and fun spot and it started to get hype after midnight. For my outfit of the night I decided to go with a simple and sexy look..back to old faithful all black...

DIY and Dinner

I recently hosted a couple of guest at my home. One of the guest was fellow blogger and friend Motorcity Moxie. I cooked dinner for them. I love to cook for others so I wanted to try something new but usually I would first test it on myself but I got confidence in my cooking skills :-). For the dinner menu we dined on:
  • Salmon croquettes
  • Roasted broccoli
  • Asian slaw and
  • Mushroom risotto
For the salmon croquettes, I combined a couples of recipes to come up with what I think was the almost perfect patty.
The ingredients include: Salmon filets, eggs, parsley, green onion, breadcrumbs, lemon pepper spice, tarragon, and butter.

For the mushroom risotto I followed this recipe minus the chives and I added some salt.

Broccoli tossed in olive oil, garlic cloves, salt, pepper and a mist of lemon. I know this looks Cajun but for some reason it taste really good crispy to me.

This was store bought Asian slaw with the packet of dressing, wonton and almonds..pretty good buy.

The final plated product...
My guest and I decided it would be a cool idea to do a group DIY...One of my fave DIY bloggers, I Spy DIY recently created a tribal like bracelet out of rope and embroidery was super cool. This was my first attempt at this DIY and I will be doing it again to make necklaces, earrings etc.

Here are some of the supplies I used...
The start to something nice...
Its not perfect, but its perfect for me!
  The End

What are some of your favorite "go to" meals to cook for guests? What is your favorite DIY project? Lemme know!
